Kitchen Must-Haves for the Festive Season!

At STORI, we’re fully embracing the festive spirit and next on our to-do list is party prepping for our friends and family over the Christmas break. If you’re an avid host you’ll love our list of kitchen must-haves for 5-star entertaining. From drinks stations to multipurpose islands, take inspiration from some of our kitchens that are perfect for any “host with the most”.

Include ample space for seating

More people and nowhere to put them? When planning your kitchen think about different seating zones, you’ll have your dining area and possibly a snug but if you’re planning on adding an island make it more than just additional worktop space and storage. Add an overhang with your countertop to create a breakfast bar, allowing stools to be easily added or removed when needed. The standard amount of overhang should roughly be 10-12 inches for ultimate legroom comfort.

Also, think about adding an “Appliance garage” to free up some extra serving space, somewhere to store away any unnecessary items like your microwave or toaster but still easily accessible if needed. The perfect way to hide away any last minute mess too!
