It’s nearly that time again, when we celebrate the love present in our lives! Show your partner how special they are without breaking the bank, here are our Top 10 Valentine’s Day at home ideas.

1. Breakfast in Bed

Start the day off right, treat your partner to a lie-in while you prepare a special Valentine’s Day breakfast! Prepare their favourite breakfast, maybe it’s a delicious stack of heart shaped pancakes, with a scrumptious array of toppings. Finish off their breakfast tray with their favourite drink and maybe a little note to show how much you love them.

2. Baked with Love

Grab your apron and rolling pin and get baking! Make this a fun activity with your partner or surprise them with their favourite treats. From red velvet cupcakes to an indulgent chocolate fudge cake, the baking options are endless!

Wakefield – Porcelain

3. A few of their favourite things

Show your other half how well you know them and gift them a basket of things they’ll really love. From little treats such as their favourite tea, or chocolates to their favourite wine or fragrance. Be sure to add some thoughtful notes or a love letter to share memories, hopes and dreams for the future or simply just reasons why you love them!

4. Cook up a storm

Make the effort to have a dinner date this Valentine’s Day by cooking a special meal together.  Experiment with some new dishes suited to your taste buds, make it a themed evening such as Italian or Mexican or keep it simple and make each other’s favourites, (if it doesn’t go according to plan, you can always order a takeaway!)

Florence – Viridian & Graphite

5. Pamper Party

Bring the spa to your home and spend an evening relaxing and chilling out. Set some mood lighting, select some therapeutic music, and treat yourself and your loved one to some self-care, face masks, a bubble bath and maybe even a massage. For an extra indulgent evening, pour a glass of fizz and accompany it with some chocolate covered strawberries.

6. Movie Night

Keep it simple with a movie night at home, grab the popcorn, and your cuddliest blankets and transform your living room into your own home cinema. Find a film you both love or one on your watch list and get snuggled up together.

Belgravia – Deep Forest

7. Wine & Cheese

Create your own cheese platter (heart shaped cheese cutters at the ready!), grab a bottle of wine (or champagne, it is Valentine’s Day after all!) and spend the evening watching a romantic movie or reminiscing on memories together.

8. Sipping Cocktails

Dreaming of your dream holiday destination? Transform your Valentine’s Day with a themed evening complete with location-based cocktails, such as Pina Coladas for Puerto Rico or Sangria for Spain. Play some background music from your chosen location, don your favourite holiday outfits and tuck into the cuisine of your desired place.

Ellesmere – Dust Grey

9. Cuddle up

Light a fire, make some hot chocolate (with marshmallows, of course) and create a cosy atmosphere for you and your partner to enjoy. Switch off the TV, set your mobiles to the side, and spend time quality time together, talking, sharing memories, and making new ones.

10. Fancy Dining

Invite your partner to get dressed to the nines and have a date night as if you would at a restaurant. Order a takeaway or cook their favourite meal, (don’t forget about dessert!), and relax together for the evening, sipping your favourite beverages.

Whatever you do this Valentine’s Day, do it with love.
